Mr. Freedland was educated at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto where he received his Honours Diploma in Environmental Design. In 1990 he earned the designation of Registered Interior Designer (RID).

Prior to establishing his namesake firm in 1993, Mr. Freedland was associated as an Interior Designer with Norma King Design Inc. in Toronto and New York, and James K.M. Cheng Architects Inc. in Vancouver.

Mr. Freedland has two decades of experience in various types of projects including hotels, airline lounges, condominium lobbies and suites, private residences, restaurants, corporate offices, spa/fitness facilities and libraries. Mitchell Freedland Design currently has seven staff members.

Mitchell is known for creating "Timeless Contemporary Designs":  trends come and go but Mitchell's aim is to create timeless fashion forward designs that are able to stand the test of time.

Mitchell Freedland Design has become a truly international design firm with projects in China, Japan, Europe and throughout North America.
